GEORGE TOWN - A jobless man has been charged in the Sessions Court here with possessing 10g of heroin at the Penang Prison.
Mohamad Hanafi Razali, 24, of Tasek Gelugor, pleaded not guilty to the offence, allegedly committed at Room 230 of the remand prison's Bakti Hall, at 10:30am on Nov 6.
The offence, under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, is punishable under Section 39A(2) with a jail term of not less than five years and 10 strokes of the rotan.
Sessions judge Zahara Hussain disallowed bail and fixed Jan 12 for mention pending the chemist report.
