Tattoo artist Chan Kar Fai was walking near a coffee shop in Bukit Batok in the wee hours of Sept 3 last year when he spotted a teenager he knew.

Chan, 32, confronted 18-year-old Chee Wen Hao and accused him of spreading rumours about him.

Unhappy at the response he got, Chan took out a stun gun from his sling bag, pointed it at the youth and warned him not to be rude.

Then, still upset at the teen's manner, he used the gun to stun him in the stomach.

Tattoo artist Chan Kar Fai, who used his stun gun on a teenager and a police officer, was warned by a judge that he would ruin his life if he did not change his ways.

In sentencing the 32-year-old to 3 1/2 years in jail and 12 strokes of the cane on Thursday, District Judge Eugene Teo said that the offences clearly showed that Chan held the law and authority in contempt.

In the wee hours of Sept 3, 2011 in Bukit Batok, Chan confronted 18-year-old Chee Wen Hao and accused him of spreading rumours about him.

He then used the stun gun to stun him in the stomach.

Chan, who was once the headman of a notorious secret society, dared the teen to meet him at a McDonald's restaurant the next night, and left.
