Man arrested for stealing safe containing S$30,000 cash

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a 24-year-old man suspected of breaking into an office and stealing a safe.
They said on Thursday at about 9am, a burglary was reported at an office at Foch Road.
A safe containing some S$30,000 in cash was stolen from the office, said the police in a statement issued on Friday afternoon.
With the aid of CCTV recordings from the office, police arrested the suspect at Tanglin Road in the early hours on Friday.
They recovered a broken safe and cash of over S$6,000.
Police said the suspect will be charged in court on Saturday with housebreaking and theft.
They will also seek a court order for the suspect to be remanded for further investigation.
If found guilty, the suspect may be jailed up to 14 years. - CNA/nd
