SINGAPORE - A 32-year-old man who allegedly attempted to break into two shops at Bras Basah was arrested on Monday (April 4).

At about 4.30am on March 27, police received a report of a man who had been seen meddling with the roller-shutter padlocks of two shops at Bras Basah commercial estate.

The suspect fled after a security officer confronted him.

Police later recovered a wooden pole believed to be used in the housebreaking.

The man is expected to be charged in court on Wednesday (April 6).

If convicted of housebreaking by night, he could be jailed up to three years and fined.
