SINGAPORE - Police investigated a 55-year-old man for flying a drone near the National Stadium in order to take photos of the fireworks at the 28th SEA Games closing ceremony.

The man was caught operating the unmanned aircraft without a permit in Kallang Riverside Parkclose to 9pm on Tuesday.

Following police investigations, he received a stern warning two days later.

Flying a drone in a designated Special Event Area such as the National Stadium is an offence under the Public Order Act.

The man could have been fined up to $20,000, jailed up to 12 months, or both.

A police statement said: "Flying an unmanned aircraft without the appropriate permit may pose a threat to public safety and security especially in areas where there are large crowds.

"Flying an unmanned aircraft near a fireworks area is especially dangerous and can cause severe harm to the members of public who are watching the fireworks."

Too many laws in Singapore our jails still not crowded yet?

A country which keeps emphasizing law on every little thing is not a good country!

Jesus Love and gr@CE is much more superior than laws!

Let's go against this law and fly hundreds of drone at national stadium.. A chance for sinkies to protest... By the way, sinkies got balls already?

Re: Man, 55, receives stern warning from police for flying drone near National Stadiu

it is clear this is done by either a FT or sinkie with strong FAP glass loot connection. that's why unamed. even if it is a 10 years old sinkie peasant, they would not hesitate to taser him, whack and pin him to the ground, and if crookie tan was involved - cut his cock also, confiscate and destroy his toys and stuff cocaine into his pockets and charge him for the highest possible penalty.
