A 30-year-old man will be charged in court on Jun. 4, 2026, for voluntarily causing hurt against a 55-year-old man on a public bus.

The younger man allegedly snatched a cap bearing an Israeli national emblem that the older man was wearing and assaulted him.

Allegedly snatched cap bearing Israeli national emblem

According to a Singapore Police Force (SPF) news release, the incident occurred on Oct. 27, 2025, at about 10:40pm, along Rivervale Drive.

Police received a call for assistance regarding a case of assault.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the 30-year-old man had allegedly snatched a cap bearing the Israeli emblem, which the 55-year-old man was wearing.

The younger man also allegedly assaulted the older man. Both parties were not known to each other.

Police established the identity of the 30-year-old man through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras.

The offence of voluntarily causing hurt carries an jail term of up to three years, a fine of up to S$5,000, or both.

55-year-old warned for display of foreign national emblem

The 55-year-old was also given a stern warning, in lieu of prosecution, for displaying a foreign national emblem.

"The police takes a serious view of any act of violence," SPF said.

SPF also advised members of the public against the public display and wearing of articles associated with foreign conflicts.

SPF also reminded members of the public "not to import overseas conflicts into Singapore" and to "express their views in a lawful and responsible manner".

"The police will deal with offenders sternly in accordance with the law," SPF said.

I bought this Israel national football team jersey during my last trip to Jerusalem. Don't tell me that I cannot wear it on the streets of S'pore.

I am neither Jew nor am I an Israeli supporter. I just bought this T-shirt during my last trip to Israel. Don't tell me that I cannot wear a souvenir T-shirt in S'pore.

My family member gifted me a few of these, in olive green and black after a trip to Israel. I chose to not wear them but use them for rags instead. Be wise, be smart. Anything that's IDF is a no no.

I am neither Jew nor am Israeli supporter, but Israel has a right to defend itself after the 7 Oct 2023 invasion by Hamas.

The appropriate penalties for both of them is to banish them to Iran and Israel respectively. KNN. This is Singapore not Middle East.

Good luck with that during the World Cup season. Or do you PAP technocrats forbid the displaying those of certain countries but you are too cowardly to say it up front?

30-year old dude definitely a Muslim or libtard, those insufferable pro-Palestine turds.

Wrong. Am not a Muslim but I despise Israel and the IDF for running a apartheid state and committing genocide.
If your neighbour crosses the fence into your home, kills your wife and kidnaps both your children, what would you do? I would do everything within my power to rescue my kids and ensure that neighbour never repeats his action again.

Your powers of comprehension are extremely weak i.e. you have no understanding of what I wrote earlier. I did not claim that only Muslims hate Israelis and Jews. Go read my post again carefully. You need to brush up on your sub-standard English.

Muslims in South East Asia hate Jews simply because their Arab heroes have a deep seated hatred for Jews/Israelis.

Your command of English is atrocious.

You said: Muslims in South East Asia hate Jews simply because their Arabs heroes have a deep hatred...

I responded to your infantile assertion by stating that if I, a non-Muslim SE Asian, detest the Jews for their atrocities and state terrorism, I'd expect a fellow SE Asian Muslim to possess the same morality and share my sense of outrage rather than simply mimicking "their Arab heroes'" deep hatred. Don't assume that Muslims share your twisted sense of morality.

Geddit, twit?

And where did I ever mention your claiming 'that only Muslims hate Israelis and Jews'? Are you blind as well as stupid?
