Malu-Money declares: I'm Singaporean BUT....

I have to admit the PAP government has done an exemplary job in assimilating the three major races when we first became independent. Whoever thought up the HDB racial quota is a genius. National Service has also helped. After all it's hard to hate a member of another race if your buddy back when you served NS was from that race.

Problem we are facing now is those Ah Tiong, Indians and Pinoys(ATIP) who are in direct competition for our jobs, never serve NS, and congregate with their races. The HDB racial quota becomes redundant as many owners rent out their flats to ATIP, as there are no racial quotas for renting their flats.

The PAP old guard were the real visionaries, now they are lead by Pinky and his cronies, who obviously get an F in planning. Last time, they plan with foresight, now they plan and screwup, then after a couple years of consultation, come up with more plans to solve the screwups. Seriously, I rather give LTK a chance to run the country if this is the best they can offer.

Seriously the guy is losing it

I totally agree with your assessment.

One expects to see an in-depth exposition of what it means to be Singaporean and the quality of writing to be of a standard of the Dean of Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.

From the sentence "The best way to explain this paradox is to compare Singapore with other nations" to the end of the article, it's all padding. And to think that Malu-Money's article took up almost 80% of the print edition of the newspaper.

A singaporean is ball-less.

As long as PAP has not loss their power, it does not hurt me to be labelled as ball-less. I have done my part with my pathetic one vote. I feel and share the shame of not being able to change things for the better. I really do not mind be called ball-less... we earned it collectively, by being unable to stand up for our rights. By being unable to look beyond the little bit of carrots which PAP offers before election time. We deserved to be called ball-less because we were afraid of change, by being intimidated by the threats of the ruling party every time.

What... my dear Tonychat are you then? Are you or are you not a Singaporean? If you are not a Singaporean, then what right have you got to deride us? If you are Singaporean, then aren't you smacking your own face?

At the end of the day, we are nothing more than a bunch of ball-less keyboard warriors. The sooner we see ourselves for what we really are, the sooner there will be progress and hope for our future generations.

I feels nothing when other national burns a Singapore Flag.

I am a Singaporean!

I feel something... I feel happy.

I may also provide the lighters and kerosene. But since I'm not actually participating in the act of burning the flag, I won't be contravening any silly Sinkie laws that demand you respect that piece of cloth.
