A MALAYSIAN man was arrested in Pattaya for using sex videos to blackmail dozens of Thai women after one of his victims filed a complaint, Naewna newspaper said this afternoon (Aug. 8).
At 12.30 a.m. today Pol. Col. Natsapong Kositsuriyamanee, superintendent of Chonburi Immigration Police, arrested Mr. Tak Sun Chong at a condominium in Pattaya on charges of secretly filming sex with several Thai women then blackmailing them.
The victim who filed the complaint said the Malaysian man befriended her after they met at WeChat app and they then arranged to meet at a condo for sex. However, he used hidden cameras to film sex scenes then threatened to post the clips at a pornographic website if she refused to pay up.
Found during the raid were two miniature spy cameras, a flash drive, memory cards, various electronic devices and two mobile phones. Within the flash drive were numerous intimate videos of Thai women dating from 2021 to 2025.
The victim had paid from hundreds to tens of thousands of baht.
Furthermore, a background check showed that the suspect had travelled in and out of Thailand on a tourist visa five times but overstayed more than 400 days after the last visit.
The suspect denied the charges and refused to cooperate in the investigation. However, he later admitted to creating the intimate videos to blackmail his victims while having used a stolen keycard to enter someone else’s condominium unit in Jomtien.
However, Immigration Police are not convinced with his testimony and are investigating whether the sex clips had been distributed on the dark web. He has now been transferred to Pattaya City police station for further legal action.
