SINGAPORE (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Malaysian actor Tony Eusoff was brought before a court in Singapore on Thursday (March 31) after he was allegedly found to be in possession of drugs.

Berita Harian reported on Friday (April 1) that the actor, whose real name is Anthony Joseph Anak Hermas Rajiman, 38, was charged with the possession of Class A drugs under the Drug Abuse Act.

It said that Tony is believed to have owned a packet containing no less than 4.56g of vegetable substance that was analysed and found to contain traces of cannabis.

He was charged with possession of the drugs at the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority bus arrival hall at the Tuas checkpoint on March 12.

The Sarawakian-born actor was said to be in Singapore to film an upcoming drama.

Previously, Tony had played the lead character, Tan Sri P. Ramlee, in P. Ramlee The Musical, staged at the Istana Budaya.

He had also gone on to play the artist in the two-part biopic Saloma: Mencari Guruh and Saloma: Pandang Kaseh.

If found guilty, Tony could be jailed up to 10 years, fined up to $20,000 or both.

The case will be mentioned again on April 12.
