Nguyen Thanh Binh, who has grown durians for nearly 20 years on a 3,000-square-meter plot in Tien Giang Province’s Cai Lay District, said he recently sold nine tons of Ri6 and Monthong durians at that price to earn profits of VND30 million.

"Prices are at a record low and the profit was barely worth a year’s work."

But he spends about VND1 million a week on nutrients for the trees after a harvest and double that to treat fruits and leaves during the flowering period.

No more money... and probably plenty of Tiongs mati during the Covid years. How to spend money?

Trashy Tiongs always love to when doing business.

For example, a small town has a shop selling mala noodles. It's doing well.

Another Tiong sees this, and opens another shop selling the exact same food. Monkey see, monkey do. Eventually the entire street is filled with similar shops. No market research, no innovation.

It's super competitive and there is not much demand. Eventually they start to undercut one another, start a price war. Finally everyone close shop.

You can see this in every industry when Tiongs are involved.
that's where you are so wrong. You have no understanding of tiong economy. Tiongs can light up a $1000 note under your nose, and let it burn on your tongue, and count it as appetiser.

Takeaways NEW

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank is looking to open new offices in Hong Kong and Singapore, according to people familiar with the matter, in a plan that would mark its biggest expansion since beginning operations in Beijing almost a decade ago.

The multilateral lender, which had more than $57 billion in assets at the end of last year, is currently negotiating with relevant parties in the cities to open the offices, the people said, asking not to be named discussing non-public information. The bank may announce the move at its annual meeting in June if it can finalize the host member agreements with their respective governments, according to one person.
