The incident occurred back in 2017 in Johor, and she had been detained without trial for almost 3 years. The case has raised racial tensions for obvious reasons but unfairly so (common sense indicates she can't have deliberately been out looking for a gang of Malay boys to run over with her car).
The 24 year old Chinese young woman, Miss Sam Ke Ting, says in her defence that the gang of 30 Malay boys were speeding on modified bicycles (without brakes) at 3am, and that they appeared speeding out of nowhere from the darkness onto the hilly road (which thus had greatly reduced visibility from the humps, what's more at 3am).
Wonder if she kena any 'vigilante punishment' from any racist prisoners, prison guards or police during the past 3 years that she had been detained without trial.
She's sooo damn lucky the judge handling her case, Siti Hajar, is commendably fair and not racist. This wise judge not only agreed that the so-called victims were mostly to blame in this traffic accident, but added that these gangs on speeding modified bicycles and PMDs pose an irresponsible safety hazard to other road users, not just to themselves. The judge instructed pitiful Miss Sam Ke Ting to be finally released after unfairly suffering 3 years detention without trial.
