KUALA LUMPUR: Iran said it is actively engaging with its "intimate friends", including Malaysia, to ensure the safe passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.

The Iranian Embassy in Malaysia, in a statement, said this is being done to address the broader economic implications of tensions in the Middle East, following what is described as "military aggression" by the United States and Israel.


It said countries, particularly in Southeast Asia, are already feeling the effects of increased oil prices and disruptions in supply chains arising from perceived threats to the Strait.

The potential for long-term instability, it added, raises concerns about economic security and energy reliability in the regions.

"In light of these developments, Iran is actively engaging with its intimate friends to address the situation and ensure the safe passage of vessels.
 
If the Muslims lay down their arms, there will be peace. If Israel lays down their arms, there will be no more Israel.

During my last trip to Israel, my Christian host said only 1% of Jews are Christians.
