不再青天滿地紅 緬甸閃電改國旗

緬甸政府21日無預警宣布更改國名國旗與國徽，距離20年來首度國會大選只有2周。2008年的新憲法雖已列出變更事項，但無變動日期。

緬甸國名從「緬甸聯邦」改為「緬甸聯邦共和國」，國旗變成黃、綠、紅相間的三色旗，中間有顆白星。至於為何要改國名國旗及國徽，軍政府尚無解釋。

緬甸原先的國旗在1974年啟用，與中華民國國旗非常類似，被一些台灣網友開玩笑的說是山寨版青天白日滿地紅旗。2008年北京奧運棒球賽中華對古巴之戰，不能攜帶國旗進場的台灣球迷有人攜帶緬甸國旗進場揮舞，「魚目混珠」聊表心意。

緬甸最高政治權力機構「國家和平暨發展委員會」21日宣布，依據「緬甸聯邦共和國憲法」，頒布有關國旗、國徽和國歌的新法令。委員會當天下午在新首都奈比多及舊首都仰光舉行新國旗升旗儀式。

匿名官員表示：「收到更改的命令很倉促，舊國旗必須焚毀，還規定必須由周二出生的人去降旗，周三出生的人負責升新的國旗，這一定是奉了占星師的指示。」

緬甸將於11月7日舉行國會大選，據說日子也是問過占星師才決定的。大選將選舉聯邦和省、邦各級議會代表，聯邦議會（民族院和人民院）再選舉產生總統、副總統，組成新政府。其後，現任軍政府將向新政府移交政權。

在仰光市政府前舉行的升降旗儀式，吸引數十名路人圍觀。一位匿名民眾表示，一切都是換湯不換藥，新瓶裝舊酒：「標籤是換了，但是真正需要更換的是酒。」

2 weeks out from the country’s first election in 20 years, Burma's military junta changed the country's flag, official name and national anthem. It is believed astrology may have something to do with the sudden makeover.

The changes, announced on Thursday, were outlined in a new constitution published in 2008 but the government didn’t announce a date for their introduction.

The country's new name is the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, instead of the Union of Myanmar.

The military, which has ruled since a 1962 coup, changed the country's name in English from Burma to Myanmar in 1989. It was a year after widespread protests against military rule were crushed, and a year before the last election.

That election was won by the party of pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi but the military ignored the result. Suu Kyi has spent 15 of the past 21 years in detention.

Although the flags are for sale on the street, residents don't seem to be buying them.

"It could be because of the astrology, it could be because the timing is right. There might be other reasons why they do this. Whatever the case, what is clear is that they have broken their own laws to establish this flag, and history will remember this."

Burma's secretive military rulers are widely believed to consult astrologers.
