With the number of UFO enthusiasts volunteering to raid Area 51 growing uncontrollably amid an avalanche of memes on Twitter, the Pentagon seems to be worried that some might actually show up to try and break ‘them aliens’ free.
The #Area51memes hashtag has gone viral on Twitter, indicating that the majority of the 750,000+ ‘going to’ and 700,000 ‘interested’ in staging a mass raid on the secretive US government base probably understand that the event planned for September 20 is just a joke.

However, the US Air Force apparently took the potential threat to the Nevada base seriously, with spokeswoman Laura McAndrews saying she would like to “discourage anyone from trying to come into the area where we train American armed forces.”
The US Air Force always stands ready to protect America and its assets.
In the meantime, Twitter is being flooded with a steady stream of memes with people sharing how they’d take part in the raid, drawing up mock battle plans and… and predicting how it would probably end if a crowd indeed decides to storm a heavily-guarded US military base.

The CIA did not officially acknowledge Area 51’s existence until 2013, and its primary purpose remains classified, though it has been the site of hundreds of nuclear weapons tests and stealth aircraft flights. The 5,000 square mile top secret base has long fascinated UFO enthusiasts who believe it is the final resting place of an alien spacecraft that allegedly crash-landed in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947.

Nearly 400,000 alien-hunters are plotting an early-morning mass invasion of top-secret Nevada military site Area 51, hoping to overwhelm security by force of sheer numbers… at least, that’s what their Facebook event page says.
We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry,” the description for the September 20th event - titled “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us” - reads. “If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Let’s see them aliens.

Attendees even drew up meme-ridden mock battle plans, while taking care to absolve themselves of any responsibility should someone actually show up in Amargosa Valley, Nevada with the intent of storming the heavily-guarded base.

The 5,000 square mile top secret base has long fascinated extraterrestrial enthusiasts who believe it is the final resting place of an alien spacecraft that crash-landed in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947. It is heavily fortified with fences, radar, patrol trucks, and lots of men with guns, whom the event’s participants have no intention of actually rushing. Supposedly.

Storm Area 51: US military 'ready' to confront 600,000 alien-hunters threatening to break into top-secret base

Maya Oppenheim
,
The IndependentJuly 15, 2019

The Air Force has issued a stern warning to the over half of million people planning to storm a top-secret US military base in the Nevada desert who are on a hunt to “see them aliens."
Over 600,000 people have signed up to an event called “Storm Area 51, they can’t stop all of us” which invites attendees to gather en masse before going into the air force base, which has long obsessed alien conspiracy theorists.
The satirical event, which is organised on Facebook and is scheduled to take place on 20 September, appears to be a joke given the high security and heavily guarded nature of the base.
The organisers said: “We can move faster than their bullets. Let’s see them aliens."
But Air Force spokesperson Laura McAndrews has released a warning to potential trespassers.
“[Area 51] is an open training range for the US Air Force, and we would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area where we train American armed forces,” she said.
Ms McAndrews added: “The US Air Force always stands ready to protect America and its assets”.
But she failed to elaborate on specific details around how officials would react to potential intruders.
“We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry,” the event description reads. “If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Lets see them aliens.”
The "Naruto run" is a reference to a Japanese manga-inspired running style featuring arms outstretched backwards and heads forward. It is inspired by the running style of Naruto Ozumaki – title character in the Japanese anime series Naruto.
Conspiracy theorists have long believed the US government holds secret information about aliens and UFOs at Area 51 and believe it is used to stow captured UFOs or alien remains and technology. But the US government categorically denies the existence of such objects.
While it featured in the 1996 alien invasion film Independence Day as an alien testing laboratory, the base’s actual main function continues to be unknown.
The base, which has been the focus of conspiracy theories for decades, was only formally recognised as a military base in 2013 after a 2005 Freedom of Information Act request.
The perimeter of the base is constantly patrolled by armed security guards and CCTV and motion-sensor cameras are also in use – with signs around the base warning intruders could face “deadly force”.
Conspiracy theorists allege the area has been the site of frequent UFO sightings.

“They Can’t Stop All of Us:” 250,000 Alien Hunters Want to Storm Area 51 Next September

Or not.

by Dario Leone

According to Fox News, more than 250,000 people have signed up to attend a Facebook event planning a raid on Area 51 in southern Nevada to “see them aliens.”
The event, titled, “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us,” will see a group of alien hunters meeting at 3 a.m. on Sep. 20, 2019 near the top-secret U.S. Air Force (USAF) Base to coordinate a plan of attack to reveal the truth behind the curtain.
From there, the group will “Naruto run” with their arms stretched behind them like Naruto Uzumaki in the Japanese anime series “Naruto,” and therefore “move faster than their bullets.”

Do You Know What Happened On This Day?

The joke event is hosted by “S***posting cause im in shambles,” a page that posts memes, and SmyleeKun, a guy who streams video games on Twitch.
Another 283,000 people said they were “interested” in attending.

“Let’s see them aliens,” the event hosts wrote in an apparent effort to rally the troops.
The USAF facility commonly known as Area 51 is a highly classified remote detachment of Edwards Air Force Base (AFB), within the Nevada Test and Training Range. According to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the correct names for the facility are Homey Airport (ICAO: KXTA) and Groom Lake, though the name Area 51 was used in a CIA document from the Vietnam War.

The facility has also been referred to as Dreamland and Paradise Ranch, among other nicknames. The special use airspace around the field is referred to as Restricted Area 4808 North (R-4808N).
The base’s current primary purpose is publicly unknown; however, based on historical evidence, it most likely supports the development and testing of experimental aircraft and weapons systems (black projects). The intense secrecy surrounding the base has made it the frequent subject of conspiracy theories and a central component to unidentified flying object (UFO) folklore. Although the base has never been declared a secret base, all research and occurrences in Area 51 are Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI). On Jun. 25, 2013, following a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed in 2005, the CIA publicly acknowledged the existence of the base for the first time, declassifying documents detailing the history and purpose of Area 51.

Area 51 is located in the southern portion of Nevada in the western US, 83 miles (134 km) north-northwest of Las Vegas. Situated at its center, on the southern shore of Groom Lake, is a large military airfield. The site was acquired by the USAF in 1955, primarily for the flight testing of the Lockheed U-2 aircraft. The area around Area 51, including the small town of Rachel on the “Extraterrestrial Highway”, is a popular tourist destination.
Will anyone take the “Storm Area 51” Facebook event seriously and actually show up at the heavily-guarded site with 24-hour surveillance?

That remains to be seen, but the truth is out there.

Are UFOs real? Over 700,000 have pledged to find out. A Facebook event named Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us has become an internet sensation. At the time of writing, 750,000 users have signed up to attend the event, located in the deserts of Nevada, and another 677,000 are "interested" in attending (read: cowards).
Here's the plan, as per the creator of the event: "We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we Naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Let's see them aliens."
"Naruto run" refers to the main character in the eponymous Naruto anime, as seen below. So, that's it. After decades of mystery, humanity will Naruto run its way to unraveling alien life.

It's not going to happen. Unfortunately, the event is fake. Fortunately, the memes are real. In an instance of the internet unifying over a key issue of our time, Twitter, Facebook and Reddit really gave us the goods.

Area 51 is a highly classified zone around 150 miles from Las Vegas, Nevada, part of the Edwards Air Force Base. No one really knows what the base is used for, though it's speculated to be for aircraft development, and as such Area 51 has become synonymous with alien conspiracies. The most popular ones involve alien spaceships or aliens themselves, all allegedly housed within the classified zone.

If even a small fraction of those UFO lovers show up to try and break ‘them aliens’ free from the secret desert facility, the ‘Area 51 raid’ joke risks spilling into one of the largest civil disobedience events ever in the US.
“We can move faster than their bullets,” the creators of the intentionally farcical event claim. But with over a million alien fans now registered as ‘going’ – and nearly the same number in reserve, just ‘interested’ in the raid – the US Air Force could find itself facing off against an unprecedented number of unarmed individuals.

“We would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area,” an Air Force spokeswoman previously said, expressing hope that UFO enthusiasts understand that an attempted breach of a military installation is no laughing matter.
Despite the very real threat that the authorities would have no choice but to use force in case of a real mass invasion, the special meme forces – either desperate to get to the bottom of US government secrets or just bored – are keeping the #Area51memes hashtag alive.
