The rapidly widening gap of technological and strategic advantage is not going to close between USA & China. Existing PLA 055 destroyer's radar was designed least 2 years back and their R & D never stopped, but rather leap generations ahead. PLA is expected to have laser radars, quantum radars, terahertz radars etc, that very uniquely leading globally.

The latest warships Dotard Navy are building this year only have radars of the Phased Array Dual Band type which Chinese made 2 years ago and already mass deployed. Before Dotard Navy launch their 3rd such destroyers, Chinese would have leaped much further and widen the arm race gap further., from 2 years gap to 10 years gap happening within just less than a year.

Not just this tech level gap, also by durability and quantity. Speed of production and quality of production are also widening gaps.

There is further a Strategic Gap. Which is not a gap but a huge gorge from day one. Which is Rocket Army's anti-ship anti-carrier missiles can hit now globally with HGV, and USA have no way to counter / defend / intercept, nor follow! USA DOES NOT HAVE SUCH TECHNOLOGY TO HIT PLA WARSHIPS! If they launch surprise 1st strike from Underground Greatwalls, there will be totally no warning signs that you can detect before hands. Globally reaching Hypersonic HGV warheads from there can strike targets globally, and takes no more than 30mins to hit. Not defensible and no dodging possible. 3月15日,海军认知网报道称,位于马萨诸塞州马尔堡的雷声集团综合防御系统公司获得4.02亿美元的修改后固定激励合同,以便生产3套AMDR雷达,预计会在2023年3月完成,这将让这型新型有源相控阵雷达进入低速率初始生产(LRIP)阶段。

AMDR雷达是伯克3型驱逐舰的核心,美国海军正式命名为AN/SPY-6(V)。其由S和X波段两个主雷达和一个雷达套件控制器(RSC)组成,用于协调传感器,SYP-6和老式无源相控阵的SPY-1雷达都采用类似的4面阵S波段天线,但改用了先进的有源相控阵制导模式,用于远程搜索、跟踪,弹道导弹防御识别和导弹通信。

伯克3的X波段雷达,其实就是已大批装备美海军舰艇的AN/SPQ-9B型雷达,是一部小型旋转式有源相控阵雷达,其主要用于锁定海平面来袭的掠海反舰导弹,精确跟踪和导弹通信和目标终端照射,甚至可以搜索潜望镜深度的潜艇,在研发早期,AMDR雷达是类似于055型驱逐舰上的4面S波段“大盾”和4面X波段“小盾”的双波段组合套装,但最终因为费用太高放弃。

伯克3用上AMDR雷达后,终于摆脱了伯克级长期使用上世纪70年代末、80年代初研发的SPY-1雷达,因为硬件落后需要不断升级“宙斯盾”作战系统软件来完善作战能力的局面,在硬件上终于和中国新一代驱逐舰052C/D和055上所用的“海之星”齐平,AMDR的搜索距离、灵敏性和抗干扰能力,大幅优于SPY-1。

值得一提的是,AMDR雷达天线还采用了独特的模块化设计,伯克3所用的SPY-6(V),一面天线阵列是由37个模块化雷达组件(RMA)组成,约有5000个T/R组件,美国海军后续的福特级核航母、美国级两栖攻击舰、研制中的濒海战斗舰改进型FFG(X)准备采用的“企业对空监视雷达”(EASR)雷达,一部天线由9个RMA组成,是其低档版。

On March 15, the Navy Cognitive Network reported that Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems, Inc., located in Marburg, Massachusetts, received a $402 million modified fixed incentive contract to produce three AMDR radars, expected to be in March 2023. The AMDR radar is the core of the Burke 3 destroyer, and the US Navy is officially named AN/SPY-6(V). It consists of two main radars, S and X-band, and a radar suite controller (RSC) for coordinating sensors. The SYP-6 and the old passive phased array SPY-1 radar use a similar 4-plane S-band. Antennas, but switched to advanced active phased array guidance modes for remote search, tracking, ballistic missile defense identification and missile communications.

Burke 3's X-band radar is actually a large-scale AN/SPQ-9B radar equipped with US Navy ships. It is a small rotary active phased array radar, which is mainly used to lock the sea level. Anti-ship missiles, precision tracking and missile communications and target terminal illumination, and even submarines that can search for depth of the periscope. In the early days of development, the AMDR radar was similar to the 4-sided S-band "Big Shield" and 4-sided X-band on the Type 055 destroyer. After using the AMDR radar, Burke 3 finally got rid of the Berk-class SPY-1 radar developed in the late 1970s and early 1980s. In the hardware, it is finally flush with the "Sea Star" used on China's new generation destroyers 052C/D and 055. Now, the US Navy is still receiving the new Burke Fight-IIA "Technical Insertion". The latest one is the DDG-121 "Little Frank. E. Peterson" in the Ingles in July last year, for Burke. The 71st ship, the first Burke 3 is the DDG-125 "Jack. H. Lucas", started in 2017 and is expected to be launched in 2023. The US Navy has now awarded Ingles and Bath Steel.
