MADONNA hasn't always been a Material Girl - as these pictures from her student days prove.

New photos have emerged of the singer before she found fame, aged jut 20 and posing as a live model for a photography class.
The sultry black and white shots, taken in New York in 1979, show the aspiring star looking relaxed and confident in front of the lens.

These photos - dubbed the 'lost nudes' - were taken a whole thirteen years before the publication of her raunchy coffee table book, Sex.

They were taken by photographer Martin H.M. Schrieber, who met Madonna - now aged 57 - while running a workshop called 'Photographing the Nude' at Parsons New School in the Big Apple.

He claims that the pair briefly became lovers - and soon his memories of their time together will be published as a book.
They've already featured in the May 2015 edition of Playboy, and soon they'll be republished in Madonna: Nudes II.

The images will also star in a new exhibition in Paris, opening on December 8 - the day before Madonna's Rebel Heart tour arrives into the French capital.
Madonna has just wrapped up the UK leg of her world tour, wowing fans at London'd O2 arena earlier this week.

Today we revealed that the mum-of-four was in hot water after she appeared to use a fake police light to make a speedy getaway from the venue. The stunt definitely proved that she can still stop traffic... thirty-six years after these shots were taken.

Naked pictures of Madonna always prove popular with fans, and four years ago a shot of the star smoking a ciggie in bed is going up for sale.

The provocative image was taken by fashion photographer Steven Meisel but was never included in her controversial 1992 book Sex.

The 1990 pic is expected to fetch over £5,000 when it goes under the hammer at Bonhams in New York next month.

Madonna – who would have been around 32 years old when the photo was taken – is featured sporting bleach-

blonde hair and dark eye make-up.

A strategically placed bed sheet saves the shot from indecency as she sprawls out starkers on her mattress.

She stares seductively at the camera as she places a lit cigarette into her mouth with a pair of manicured fingertips.

Her tome Sex contained a series of provocative images, all captured by Meisel.

Despite a poor critical reception, the book went on to shift 1.5 million copies in a matter of days.

It coincided with the release of her equally raunchy fifth studio album Erotica.

I've never thought of Madonna as a looker. She was the Lady Gaga of her time. Very good at promoting herself & successful but not that attractive.

From what I've read from her boyfriends, they felt that she used them to further her career. Yes, she was a material girl.

This bitch has a fcuk up character. Even her dancers can't stand her.

She was a prima donna right from Day 1 of her career. But that's her. In fact, it's her non-conformism, drive, aggression, the go-get-it-no-one-owes-you-a-living mentality plus talent that made her a world pop icon.

The Asian counterpart of Madonna would be Anita Mui, who's actually a better singer and equally talented in the showmanship department.

She's got a great body though
