SINGAPORE: The windscreen of an SMRT bus apparently shattered while the vehicle was travelling on the expressway on Monday.

Channel NewsAsia viewer Yi Chengwu said he was on the bus service 969 travelling from Tampines to Woodlands.

Passengers heard a "big noise, like a gunshot" at about 6pm when the bus was travelling along Seletar Expressway, he said.

The windscreen on the left-hand side of the bus cracked and bits of glass started to drop, he said.

The bus travelled for about 10 to 15 minutes before passengers were asked to alight at Khatib MRT station.

SMRT said 50 passengers were transferred to another bus to continue their journey.

It added that no one was injured and it's investigating the incident.
