Two men carrying the Aids virus were taken to Singapore court on Wednesday to face a charge each of engaging in sexual activity with a male partner without informing him of the risk of contracting the virus.
One of them, aged 48, pleaded guilty to the offence with the victim - now aged 37 - in May 2009.
Before the sexual activity, the defendant, diagnosed to be HIV-positive in 2006, did not tell the victim of the risk of contracting HIV infection from him and get the latter's voluntary agreement to accept that risk.
The court heard that the defendant was afraid that the victim would not engage in sex with him if he were to tell him the truth.
