LTK and Workers Party: The Jah Rastafar of Politics

WP, under Marshall and JBJ had the support of the minority Malays and Indians.

After he successfully backstabbed JBJ (with the help and connivance of LKY) and took over the party, LTK turned what used to be a multi-racial party into a Chinese chauvinist party. He used and is still using the WP to advance his narrow and intense, Nantah-typed Chinese worldview. Away from the public facade he puts on and in private, Low detests the minorities Malays and Indians. He sees them as nuisance and impediments to the advancement of Chinese language, Chinese education and Chinese culture.

This man is obsessed with all things Chinese. He is like that young SAPS half-brain in this forum. He is the Jah Rastafar of politics, albeit an older version.

I am no psychologist but believe he suffers from some serious type of sino-ethnocentric psychological disorder. Those how know him and his inner thoughts beyond the public facade he puts on will know what I mean.

The Malays and Indians took a risk and gave their conditional support to the WP which enabled it to win Aljunied. The dumb WP chauvinists, racists and "Guess the Race" bigots have, very fortunately, squandered that temporary support and goodwill.

I say fortunately because not many know the private side of Low. He has been fairly successful in maintaining his double-faced games and his public facade. LKY played a dangerous game when he decided to use and ride this Nantah Chinese chauvinist horse in order to get rid of his (Lee's) chief nemesis, JBJ.

This PE by-election is about whether Singapore and Singaporeans will remain committed to multiracialism or dabble in chauvinism. If it is the latter, it will be a very bleak future and Singapore will unravel as a nation. We need to put this chauvinist genie back into his Chinese closet.

Whatever our fights with LKY and the PAP, my and my comrades' commitment is to Singapore first. That will be our abiding interest. We fought and will continue to fight the PAP. What we will also do is to fight the greater evil of the PAP.

That greater evil is the WP, or more precisely, what Chauvinist Low has turned it into - an ethnocentric, Chinese chauvinist party.

Old Man also harboured, and still harbours, private opinions about the Malays and Indians, and at times, he wasnt afraid to vocalise them. We have seen and read what he has said about having Malays in the SAF, about them slowing the rest down, and even the Graduate Mother scheme had a clear exclusionary element against the Malays. Of the Indians, he said they are fractious and querulous etc. He also thinks that Singapore is still not ready for an Indian PM. How he lamented on S'pore not having the advantage of homogenous societies like Japan and Korea.

But in the end, he still had to steer the country based on tolerance and acceptance of cultural and ethnic diversity.

Ditto with Mahathir..when he wrote The Malay Dilemma, he was a crazy bigot. When he became PM, he toned down his racialist rhethoric.

I think LTK would be the same if one day he is PM.

I think a lot had to do with educational background, upbringing, economic status etc. I find at both low end and high end, there is no ethnic chauvinism...it is usually at middle class that is always insecure..the highs are well travelled and have seen the other side of bigotry. The poor labor class know their lot is same, whatever the color. Interestingly, hardly any atas Indian or Malay speak Chinese, but many Indians in lower jobs speak hokkien bass on observation.

Give LTK time to learn, his party to attract the good sort once the fear psycho recedes

Same goes for the 'guess the race' comrades in this forum, they too will grow up...unless they are settling personal scores through bigotry, because may be their wives ran away with some ahneh :-)

Trust no man, when given absolute power, he will naturally corrupt, Nepotism and Cronyism will slowly sets in.
I have yet to see one opposition party, that state in their manifesto to change the constitution that effectively curb absolute power that PAP put in place.

If you want to talk about chauvinism every race is chauvinistic about their own race. Yet perfectly fine for malays and indians and other groups to be chauvinistic. I'm not even saying the low is one cos ptader has yet to prove it.

It also applies to those that hate the chinese like ptader cos his wife ran away with a chinese man that's why he hates chinese ppl so much.

Politics is never clean. The one who can sweet talk to deceive and be seen as smart and honest wins the day.
PAP have been hiding a lot of things in the past with the help of the beholden press, were perceived to be intelligent, dedicated and hardworking. Now with their policy failures and the advent of social medias they can hide no more.
WP on the other hand, flow with the tide regardless of race or language. The fact is, Chineses happens to be the majority in Singapore and WP is seen by some as racist either out of spite or jealousy. This part if proven, WP will definitely make amends but it will be unwise not to place Chineses as the priority given the larger size of the cake.
If they are indeed racist, WP will guaranteed to lose in any constituency where Malays and Indians are the majority.
So, my 2c worth, WP is not really bothered, so do the Chineses. That's the nature of tides and politics.
