The Land Transport Authority said the higher COE prices this round are partly because the last tender was three weeks ago instead of the usual two. There was also a car roadshow at the end of September.
"More broadly, the lower costs of EVs especially from China, as well as the reduction of incentives for cleaner energy vehicles, have also added to demand," LTA said.
"We advise car buyers to be prudent in bidding for COEs."

It's our tax receiving CServants to control the COE. 65% sinkies must be very happy to pawn all of us including themselves.
All young gen brain washed to no need have a car for convenience & dates.
@True Believer tio boh?

in my children's O Levels Social Studies, they were taught that COE was a great solution and inevitable for keeping singapore's car population under control.

Many students study hard for exams but lose their common sense.

Those who excel at rote learning end up as scholars and eventually Ministers who lack common sense.

Van being used to transport staff & worker where family usually doesn't buy. Now phv business using car to transport people is competing with people for COE & LTA is incapable to control. Where is the Taxi category? Why PHV is not under taxi category for public transport? Or they had blurred the line between personal & business use?

For every registered PHV, shouldnt the equal number of COE be released to make up for cat A , CatB for cars use for Pte not public?

PAP related business mah. So obviously, policies will favour their own people. Others die their own problem.

The COE premiums are controlled by the govt; just get used to it. If we can afford a car, buy 1 or 2, but if we cannot or are unwilling to pay for one, just take the train or bus.

When companies buy cars to use as PHVs, they bid for COEs in Cat A and Category B alongside private buyers. Despite the denials from our out-of-touch politicians, this increased demand from PHV firms contribute to higher COE prices in these categories, making it more expensive for individuals/families to own cars.

I recall our ministers say something to the effect that nobody is stopping S'poreans from buying cars. So long as we can afford to, we may purchase as many cars as we wish to.

They are actually waiting for local born sinkies to be replaced & 65% allowed it.
The local born citizens are like the existing and neglected subscribers of Telcos, and the promotions and special deals are extended only to new subscribers. It is wrong to run a country like a commercial entity, but we are not known as S'pore Inc for nothing.

Correct for you :)
