Love Story: I rejected him a few times because I was afraid of getting hurt
Vanessa rejected Eugene initially, because she was not ready to get into another relationship after break-ups in the past. But Eugene's sincerity melted her heart eventually.
Vanessa tells her love story:
"I’m Vanessa and my boyfriend is Eugene. I remember that I met him on Facebook last year. He started to chat with me online and eventually we exchanged numbers.
"After that, we kept SMSing each other and met up after we have known each other for a long period.
"After a few meet-ups he confessed to me that he liked me but I didn’t treat it seriously because I didn't believe in true love at that time because I’m afraid of break ups that hurt me in the past.
"I wasn’t ready to accept anyone yet, so he taught me how to put down the past and be strong to move on.
"He asked me for a chance a couple of times but I rejected him. I can see that he’s putting in a lot of effort to touch my heart but I just don’t want to accept him because I’m afraid of getting hurt again and again.
"He consoled me, and I thought about it for a long time.
"After that he told me how much he loved me and I felt his sincerity. His words melted my heart and I slowly started to accept him.
"He made me believe that true love does exist.
"After a few months we started to quarrel because both of our attitudes towards each other wasn’t good and I felt that he didn't cherish me enough.
"We promised to change for each other as we know that we still love each other to want to make the relationship last.
"Although both of us took a long time to change, our love bonds are still there. I’m glad that we changed.
"I want to be a more understanding and thoughtful girlfriend for him.
"I want to thank him for the love that he has showered me with, and the care and concern he has shown me.
