On 16 May, a terrible accident occurred on Huanhan Road in Banqiao District, New Taipei City. A coupled car illegally crossed the double yellow line to make a left turn, and a motorbike travelling in the opposite direction was unable to react to the sudden infringement, failing to brake and hitting the car head-on.
A motorist posted a frightening video on Facebook's 'Waste Bulletin' in which a car is about to enter a construction site on Huan Han Road, but crosses the double yellow line and turns left.
The man on the motorbike behind him then noticed the cyclist and helped him along with workers at the site. Police said the 36-year-old man, surnamed Huang, was driving a tractor-trailer towards the construction site, while the 24-year-old man, surnamed Tsai, was driving a motorbike towards the forest and accidentally hit him, leaving him with multiple bruises.
