Looks like its great to be a contractor (garment approved of course!) Along with the usual bugbear like road improvement works, construction, construction everywhere of new flats, condos and whatever....now I see even the current flats are not spared. Repainting works and what nots going on. Great to boost the failing economy, may even get more votes too. Great to be a contractor or in the building sector right now. As for the rest of us, our sanity is being tested again with the incessant drilling, knocking...etc.

When u see the economic report on the Sinkie economy, look at the building construction nos. It will be going off the scale. Huge chunks of our forest gone to the bulldozers. Free land under garment are sold off to developers and the garment is pumping monies into this HDB building frenzy. So what if they delink HDB new price from market, the sheer volume of sales will def be the bumper crop for garment coffers. Forget manufacturing, casinos, bio-techs ..etc, building is now the star of the economy!!
