The last shop at the corner is Whitely Motors, then Conrad Motors, & one engineering firm, Al Lam Sofa & then Standard Chartered Bank, from right to left...

You are wrong on this

any idea where was the estate that they torn it down and the land still empty until now due to GE disadvantage? heard LHD got strong support that is why HDB en bloc the whole estate. TIA

Already happened to a nearby smaller food court. A few year ago it was turned into apartments, I think it's now known as Thomson V

Yes, just opposite. Another at Sembawang, opp the shopping centre suffered the same fate.

The 90's would be more than 1m for a house on the average, even the "original" not "crispy", ha ha ha, that is, those without much renovation, still cost to a million. Now, don't ask, unless you have the money. The 80's was a better time to buy a house there, affordable.

1.4 million if I recall rightly. My budget was about 200k lower. House was done up decently.

The Shell Petrol station is a history by itself, it had been there since Taman Permata was built, that would be in the region of 1965/1966. I use to eat at Long House very often. It was an A&W restaurant way back. The OCBC Bank building next to long house, was the former Tat Lee Bank Branch & near to the Shell petrol Station, at the shophouses is Hainanese Chicken Rice Shop, I think is "Meng Kee"?? memory bad these days. It had been there for a long, long time too.

Many of us would have missed Lakeview shopping centre, market & food centre, would remember the two Cantonese Resturants, of Ying Kee & I think, "Cheong Kee". The char kway teow, hay mee, the laksa, the mee pok tar...and to mention the Radio Taxi Station..."Lake view taxi Stand"..sure have gone down memory lane...

Yup, I remember there is a small makeshift temple near the tat lee bank, and also a durain store beside it. Sell good durains too.

The duck rice stall and the cold drink stall selling ice lychee drink is a must-have. :)

Can also see a lot of former SBC actors having supper there after their filming.

I still remember the ex-couple lee nan xing & yang li bing once stayed at the terrace house nearby thomson ridge.

i think a whole hdb estate was demolished due to pap disadvantage during GE. the land i think still empty now. not too sure izzit used to be under SDP Ling How Doong.

That estate is all HUDC. No HDBs.

Unless is opposite Thomson CC, is shunfu HDB estate.

There were many delicious food there, the laksa in the morning with the old Teochew Couple, whom I am sure had gone to see their maker, the porridge, the Hainanese Coffee stall, the Fosh Ball Noodle stall, the "hay mee stall"...
