Seems it is pretty bad for some of the PMETs that is jobless, not months, but years...

According to the Straits Times news report “Employment growth rebounds in second quarter but unemployment rises” (Jul 30) – “Unemployment rose after trending down over the past 12 months. The seasonally-adjusted rate was 2 per cent overall, from 1.8 per cent in the first quarter of the year. The rate for citizens 2.9 per cent, or 56,100 people.”

Why never disclose unemployment rate for PRs and foreigners?

Although the unemployment rate for PRs and foreigners, and the breakdown of the local employment into Singaporeans and PRs, are not disclosed in the MOM report – I have derived estimates for the following, using the data in the report:-

… unemployment rate of PRs – 2.2 per cent (Singaporeans – 2.9 per cent)

… unemployment rate of foreigners – 0.7 per cent

… proportion of PRs in the local workforce – 13.5 per cent

… proportion of unemployed PRs to unemployed locals – 10.8 per cent

So, on a relative basis – there were more unemployed Singaporeans to unemployed PRs.

The unemployment rate of Singaporeans is also much higher than PRs and foreigners.

84,700 unemployed + long-term unemployed + under-employed, etc

As to “”Our employment rate is one of the highest globally while our unemployment rate is one of the lowest. We must strive to keep it this way for as long as we can” and ”An estimated 84,700 residents, including 75,200 Singapore citizens were unemployed in June 2015″ – if we factor in the long-term unemployed (who are not mentioned in the subject MOM report), the under-employed, part-time for economic reasons and economically inactive Singaporeans – there may be many more Singaporeans who can’t get a job or a decent paying job.

Just to give my Testimony to support this article contributed by our author,
I like to share that I am unemployed and have been unemployed 3 times in my life.
My Qualifications :
1. Microsoft certified systems engineer.
2. SAP certified
3. PMP certified Project manager (the world’s toughest most respected pm certification)
4. Bachelors degree
5. about 20 years IT experience
The influx made it impossible for me to return to IT being over 40 now.
I can get a job but its no longer something that can be long term for me.
So, I have given up searching after 2 years unemployment.
I want VTO. I want blood.

This is my testimonial:
I have MCSE, CCSIP and CCIE. The last 2 are considered the blackbelt in security and network. It took me years of dedicated work and study to get them.
I am 45 and was retrenched at 42 by FT trashed IT head getting a whole gang of their own ppl in. Most of them don’t even know the basic of IT and here they are, getting paid 7k and above.
I used to earned 5 figured pay and now I have to go to interview and being offered 4k. Is this a joke? Yes it is. Those pinoy and ah tiong that got nothing but fake certs only wants 2.5k. So the bosses think by giving me 4k it’s more than enough.
Brothers and sister, this is the real testimonial. When u are above 40, you can get retreched easily. And getting back the last drawn salary is hard. Many HR are foreigners, and they will not give Singaporean any chance.
I can attest my qualification and knowledge of IT wins many here but was played out by pappy demons.
I shudder to think of my children future. What they will face in the next 10 years when they grow up and look for jobs.
Please vote pap out for the sake of ourselves and our children. We have the chance. Don’t blow it.

Net happiness bro. Your little sacrifice made many people very happy.

Why not look at the same data and conclude that around 97% of the Singapore workforce has jobs and are paid market rates for their academic qualifications, professional expertise and work experience?

The more viable reason why you are particularly hard hit it that the white scums pour in tons and tons of shit skins and also had a agreement with the shit skin country to take almost all areas of IT jobs.

This is particularly disturbing...

In my block of flat, I knew many of my neighbours have only water but no electricity and gas supply to their unit.
They have been in arrear with their utility bill for many months.
And, also in arrear with their HDB monthly instalment.
Their unemployment period are not in the month, but years.
You people better be aware that there are a series of big multiple events destined to happen from September onward.
The events include global economic collapse, devaluation of all fiat currencies, high unemployment, geophysical destruction, weather chaos and WW3.
If you people still choose not to made changes, get ready to have your life ruined.
