A 61-year-old woman was arrested on Sunday for suspected involvement in loansharking activities.

On Sunday afternoon at about 1.20pm, a resident living in Clementi Avenue 2 alerted the police to loanshark harassment graffiti outside his flat. He had also noticed a woman behaving suspiciously in the vicinity. However, the suspect had already left when officers arrived.

On Sunday afternoon at about 1.20pm, a resident living in Clementi Avenue 2 alerted the police to loanshark harassment graffiti outside his flat. He had also noticed a woman behaving suspiciously in the vicinity. However, the suspect had already left when officers arrived.

Detectives continued investigations and managed to track the suspect to Guillemard Road about three hours later.

The woman, who apparently travelled around the island on a motorcycle, was placed under arrest after a search unveiled loansharking-related paraphernalia such as marker pens, a bicycle lock and debtors' records in her motorcycle's box.
