Coronavirus: Work pass holder banned from working in S'pore, 39 foreign workers fined for breaching rules

SINGAPORE - A work pass holder has been stripped of his pass and permanently banned from working in Singapore for breaching circuit breaker measures, the Manpower Ministry (MOM) said on Sunday (April 12).

Investigations found that the worker from an essential firm had finished work on the evening of April 9.

However, he continued to loiter at various places for an extended period of time after his meal, returning to his place of residence only the next day.

"This is a blatant breach of circuit breaker measures," said MOM.

The authorities also issued 39 fines to work pass holders from Friday to Sunday.

The fines were issued by various agencies including the Ministry for Environment and Water Resources, the National Parks Board and MOM, the ministry said.

"These individuals were found to have gathered in groups, engaged in group exercise or participating in recreational activities like frisbee or football with persons who did not live in the same household," said MOM.

The ministry added that if these workers are found to have breached circuit breaker measures again, it "will not hesitate" to revoke their work passes and the passes of their dependants.

Employers and their worker have a joint responsibility to abide by safe distancing rules during the circuit breaker, which are necessary for health and safety, it said.

"Ignorance of the requirements is not an excuse and MOM will not hesitate to enforce against errant individuals," MOM added.

The ambiguity from the PAP fuckwits is astounding.

Which is worse, group activities (with non-family members) or 'loitering'? And what constitutes 'loitering'?

Also, don't worker dorms have 'book-in by 2359' orders?

The CB rules are very clear. Those fuckwit foreigners think they can fuck around with our lives and our country just because they are here temporarily. I hope the fucking government now know how foreign workers see Singapore. This is not their home, so they fuck care.

For once, I think the CB rules are clear. Very clear.

Which is worse, group activities (with non-family members) or 'loitering'?
Both!

And what constitutes 'loitering'?
If one lives in the west, then why is one heading east during this CB time? Or why is one sitting and/or strolling alone leisurely at odd hours in work attire?

Also, don't worker dorms have 'book-in by 2359' orders?
He probably lives in a rental room, not a lowly dorm-dwelling worker.

This CB government deserve it,all foreigners cones here yaya payaya, now they hv a taste of it.CB always call them talents ,listen aktrady tulan ,wat cb talent, cone here to learn , now hot topic hospital ,look at those working there, cases of wrong medi given ,etc ,by foreigners ,cb overnment also help foreigers bring in virus, worse us malaysia so near n even a few hundred thousand ppl rush in ,don know how many us infected.cb.should ban malaysia from coming in.

is loitering any worse than allowing infected foreign patients for treatment ?..
barking at the wrong tree for the wrong reason lah..if the authorities wants to kill some chickens to frighten the monkeys than such idiocracy is totally misplaced

Is the social distancing rules published in Urdu ?

In the warped mindset of the pap, without foreign workers, the economy will go down the sewers.
