The Nobel Prize that truly reveals the absurdity of the process is the award of the latest economics prize to Princeton University's Paul Krugman. Undoubtedly, Professor Krugman did some brilliant work in his younger days, but of late, he has meandered off course. One of the most eminent economists in the world told me privately: "Kishore, they should shut this prize down if they have to give it to people like Paul Krugman."

Paul Krugman once said that the "Asian Economic Miracle" was a myth and asian growth was comparable to that of the Soviet Union. He got Asia completely wrong. So why did the Nobel Economics Prize Committee award this year's prize to Prof. Krugman? Simple! The committee hates United States President George W Bush. It liked Prof Krugman's weekly rants against Mr Bush in The New York Times. This is why they gave him the prize. Politics trumped objedctive calculation

Oh and Kishore also said amongst other things

"...URA is the best urban planning agency in the world"

Oh Paul Krugman is simply too liberal for Kishore. And Kishore doesn't mind George W. Bush. What more do you expect from him?

HaHa,

One of the most eminent political scientists in the world told me privately: "HOPE, they should shut this place down if they have to give it to people like Kishore."

God knows whatever he got and I am not finding out!

I remember how one western newspaper- I can't remember which one- dissected his "Asian Values" books, calling it incomplete and flawed.

If I can remember correctly, it probably could have recommend it as a skim, and not as a read. I read that book halfway, and I thought it just went on and on, repeating the same points in different ways over and over again, really.

No wonder LKY appointed him as the Singapore UN Ambassador earlier in the decade.

ah kishore, the one who used to ape the mc carthy era regarding the communist domino theory....which was proven wrong during an interview with mc namara...:D

i study his book on asia economic miracle during my uni days as one of the topics to cover.

Damned. You took my line. That was what I wanted to say about Kishore Babooni.

Kishore tries too hard to push LKY's S'pore. In the same article he once again claimed that S'pore had world class universities. If that is so, why or why does the PAP govt continue to 'waste' tax payers $$$ sending our best and brightest to Ivy League land and Oxbridge:rolleyes: Even his own children gave our 'world class universities' a miss:rolleyes:

Kishore is an intellignet man whom the world has yet to acknowledge his immense contribution to mankind. He deserves and international award.
