If I remember correctly, in the past AGO had mentioned serious financial discrepancies in Mindef.... not a peep from the pappies then.
How convenient a time to fix WP and distract from more important issues.

Pappy dogs are the masters of "调虎离山计“. If it was a camera, it will always have front-focus or back-focus issues....
Well the PAP though it would be nice to have the Old man show up at the 50th NDP and they would give it all the means to keep him alive till ten at least , even if it means propping him up with structures.
Well now , come to think of it many youngsters who have come to learn the LKY has been more of a " democratic " face but effective dictator ..
He does not believe in the refined manners of .. that you can disagree without being disagreeable .
Fact : He gets rid of every one who disagrees and this has rubbed on into Many PAP and other Singaporeans as the way to get stuff done.
But is not the right way . not in this Century
Well the PAP has become more like the Republican in the USA , catering only to the already well connected and those who are well connected.
All else are mere stooges who will have to be made to slave to ensure the top 5 % remains there.
This has to be become more of a equal opportunity society and for that reason I think the youngsters would like to see some good change and wjo even has been a stumbling block might as well be out of the way.
So it has to change and perhaps the PAP must go as well .
And the wealth that the country has accumulated ha to be accounted for .
Well if a Former president Ong Teng Cheong could not get that accounted inspite of being the guardian of the Country and its assets., then there has to be a reason
And such a behaviour has led to Singapore becoming nepotic , racist in several other practical means .
If LKY inspite of all the credit give to him as a executer aggressive implementor .
Goh Keng Swee and others capable were the reason Singapore is what is today. And don't just pack all the Kudos to LKY who is some ways was no more than a Well connected , educated lawyer with a Gangster like mentality , which was needed at a point in time. And that time has long elapsed. That time elapsed some 20 Years ago .
And like most Old folks this fellow refuses to accept that.
