Education is good and important but if you look at a cohort when they are 40 years old, you realized that the gap between JC and ITE narrows. Your discriminations are uncalled for.

It was announced during PM Lee's National Day Rally that Aspire committee has been set up to ensure that Poly and ITE students have progression. ASPIRE is also looking into ways to assist poly and ITE students such as implementing apprenticeship.
These schemes are aimed at leveling the playing field for ITE and Poly students. What are your thoughts on this?

As long as these students in ITE and Poly are local born sinkies, training and aspiring them to progress further is commendable.

If the foreign students such as the SPRs are also eligible for ASPIRE and they will one day balek kampong and become our competitors, then the paps as usual are stupid.

The govt has run out of ideas for the economy that will create new better jobs , so they are prepping you mentally to accept that very soon your degrees cannot get you a job, or that yr degree is not ever going to pay you as well as before. Therefore they want you to settle for lower non-University paper qualifications that will fit the lower wage levels which are depressed by the presence of all these cheap foreign imports at the behest of the PAP govt.

All this segregation against late bloomers was started by the govt themselves.
I remember job applications where they were asking for your O level results even though you already have a degree.
Then if you did not qualify for local uni but scraped together to get a foreign degree, you will find that the pay scale punishes those who studied overseas.

Those in their forties will remember.

ITE and Poly students are cheaper to engage, besides, they have to work their way up, this help to cut cost for engaging uni grads at a more advance level. it boils down to costs, if you are as cheap as our FTs, you can be assured that you will stay employed all your life. if not, better prepare a alternative route for yourself.
