Let's talk about clothes

Shopping wisely is not the same as shopping cheaply. If it is shopping cheaply, then one can buy all stuff at places like second-hand shops, thrift shops, discount stores, hypermarts like Carrefour etc.

Shopping wisely means getting value for money regardless of whether the good is cheap or expensive. There are differences in quality among brands. For example, dot finds more value in Asics running shoes than in Nike shoes although both are expensive.

for guys, the standard SAF shoes can be gotten for free as long as you have your ns credits for saf emart. heck they even deliver to your doorstep. paying more than $150 for a pair of running shoes is being extravagant. i cannot understand how that is shopping wisely.

if you're a regular runner and serious about running for health, it pays to have an excellent pair of running shoes. i've seen too many getting their knees repaired for a thousand times the amount of a good pair of running shoes.

go 4 dose wif tick material ... @ least, dey gif u back ur moni's worth in material quantity ... ze tick material actuarry makes it last longer ...

stopped putting keys in my jeans pockets these days, as keys create a hole over time with wear and tear. without those unintended holes, 505 jeans can last over 20 years. on sale, i get any pair, any number, any type, for usd29.99 plus tax in the nearest outlet mall.

i had the older version of saf brooks and new balance. the brooks is good for running but slightly heavy. the new balance, when you run, you can feel the pounding on your feet.

Nike running shoes are overrated and expensive.
Try Mizuno, Asics, Brooks, New Balance etc.

Nike is only good for Dri-Fit wear and shoes for certain ball games.

i prefer buying ski-pants.You can choose to wear them both in or out.Once you have your T's tucked out, no one knows which's the in or out..;)

why would someone want to wear a pair of pants for 20 years ?

Because the clothes can last that long, if well-maintained. Some of dot's shirts, T-shirts are also 20 years old. Dot stopped buying T-shirts many years ago because the T-shirts keep accumulating. Not that dot is a hoarder, dot has thrown out T-shirts when they are old, are out of fashion, are no longer liked etc.

The problem with a growing pile of T-shirts is that it will take a longer time to work through the pile, and so the T-shirt can keep longer. If there are 10 T-shirts and each is worn for a week, each T-shirt will be worn, on average, 5 times a year. But if there are 50 T-shirts, each will be worn, on average, only 1 time a year. And so the problem compounds.
