I used to sail often, at least once or twice a year, with Royal Caribbean. One of their older ships was Legend of the Seas. It was much smaller compared to the new version using the same name.

That ship probably did not sail from SG in its days. These days, only the very big ones sail from SG because they think Asians are high SES, after watching Crazy Rich Asians.

Because when out at sea, you can only access the Internet via satellite. And it's not Starlink.

Actually go for a cruise sounds fun...but I prefer a minimum 4 night package...anything less is too little...and too much like 1 month is too long getting stranded on a ship with no internet

Cruise gets boring after the second or third day. All you are thinking about is when the ship reaches the next port of call.

And if you are in a cruise on a big sea with choppy waters (not Straits of Malacca), when you return home you will feel 'jelly legs' and a sensation that your head is spinning. That subsides in a few weeks.

almost all major cruise lines are using starlink now for wifi via satellite. it started in 2023. royal caribbean, carnival, cunard, princess, holland america, norwegian, msc, etc. the older systems using domes are still on some older ships but many have retrofitted to starlink panels, and you can see them on the upper decks. the older dome systems offer slow speed or basic wifi while the starlink system offers high speed wifi (with a premium). all new cruise ships to be launched in 2025 will have starlink connectivity. it’s the de facto choice among cruise lines. and no, you cannot bring your own starlink terminal on board.

Also, if you're buying Internet access or gambling at the casino in the cruise ship, only US dollars are accepted.
