THE Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) welcomed its new chief yesterday.
Brigadier-General Ng Chee Meng, who was No. 2 in the air force, took over from his older sibling Major-General Ng Chee Khern at a parade held at Tengah Air Base.
The handing over was witnessed by Chief of Defence Force, Lieutenant-General Desmond Kuek.
Before his move to the top job, BG Ng, who joined the SAF in 1986, commanded the 144th squadron, which operates the F-5 Tigers, as well as Changi Air Base. He has served as head of the air plans department and as director of joint operations.
He graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1991. He obtained a master's in international relations from Boston's Tufts University's Fletcher School in 2003.
Maj-Gen Ng, an SAF (Overseas) and President's Scholar, will move to the administrative service.
