Lamb bhuna is a north Indian meat dish with a spicy, thick sauce. Indian food is hugely popular in the UK.
A 40-year-old man in the UK tried to get out of paying his restaurant bill by sprinkling his pubic hair into his food at an Indian restaurant.
The incident, which took place last November in Middlesbrough, landed him in jail after he was found guilty of fraud by false representation, UK media reported this week.
Lee Tyers waited until after he ate his meal before telling a staff member at Jamal's Indian restaurant that he found pubic hair in his lamb bhuna (a curry dish).
Jamal Chowdhury, the restaurant owner, explained to Tyers that all the employees had black hair and the ones in his food were brown in colour, Sky News reported.
"He had eaten everything but then on the side of the plate there was some brown hair,” Chowdhury said in a BBC report.
“It was separate and not mixed into the food,” he added.
When police examined footage from a closed-circuit TV, Tyer was seen putting his hands down the front of his trousers before complaining to the restaurant.
Tyers was jailed two weeks and told to pay compensation for the food bill of £39.55 (S$74).

Chowdhury told the court that Tyers had been a customer for around 18 years and already owed the eatery £110 for previous unpaid meals.
He reportedly told Tyers on 10 November that he would ignore the debt so long as he paid for that evening's meal.
Tyers assured the owner he had the cash to pay, before he and a friend ordered two lambbhunas along with pilau rice, naan bread, drinks, a chapati and a shish kebab.

UK man sprinkled own lanjiao hair in his curry to get free Indian meal

Man Jailed For Sprinkling Pubic Hair On Curry
A man is found guilty of sprinkling his pubic hair on a lamb bhuna in an attempt to get out of paying a £40 bill.

A fraudster who tried to get a free meal in a curry house by putting pubic hair on the remains of his lamb bhuna has been given a prison sentence.

Lee Tyers, 40, was caught on CCTV putting his hands down the front of his trousers as he sat in the Jamal Indian restaurant in Middlesbrough town centre.

He then told waiting staff that he had found the hair in his food, in an attempt to get out of paying the £39.55 bill.

Restaurant owner Jamal Chowdhury told the court he had known Tyers, of Mount Leven Road, Yarm, as a customer for around 18 years, but that he was owed £110 for unpaid previous meals.

He said he told Tyers when he entered the restaurant on November 10 that he would serve him as long as he paid for that night's meal.

Tyers told Mr Chowdhury that he had the cash to pay, before he and a friend ordered two lamb bhunas along with pilau rice, naan bread, drinks, a chapati and a shish kebab.

The pair ate their meal, before Tyers complained to a waiter about the hair in his food.

After a discussion, the pair left the restaurant without paying.

Mr Chowdhury said: "I told him all the staff have black hair and this is brown - it’s not our hair."

Tyers denied a charge of fraud by false representation but was found guilty by magistrates at Teesside Magistrates' Court.

Prosecutor David Ward said Mr Chowdhury was a "nice man" whose good nature had been taken advantage of.

Tyers was jailed for two weeks after magistrates said they had found Mr Chowdhury to be "consistent and credible in giving his evidence".

Tyers was also ordered to pay £39.55 compensation.

He could have argued the hair looks brown to the staff, not to him.

I once witnessed someone who refused to pay because he claimed that the service was bad. I found it strange that he waited until after the meal to complain:biggrin:
He & his guests simply walked out.

This was at a restaurant at Plaza Singapura.
