Stayed in Holland for about 2 months back in 04 as I have an Aunt who lives there, it's much more expensive in terms of groceries and clothing. But overall it's a great place to relax. Even the farms in Holland are beautiful unlike farms you see in SE asia or even Canada. I could easily get her to sponsor me but it's not as straight forward. You got to learn the Dutch language as a criteria for immigration. I remember the bars and casinos in Amsterdam were awesome. The red light district are divided into ethnic sections whereby if you wanna screw a different race every night you can easily do so. It was weird though, one side of the river was apartments and beautiful houses, the other side is the red light district connected by small bridges like the ones in boat quay.

Did you go Vondel Park?

Hot young beautiful Dutch blonde women riding bikes and cool Dutch people.

The combination is hard to beat.

I did not know the names of where Ive been in Amsterdam. My Uncle drove me everywhere in his tiny volkswagon. The streets are very narrow and the street signs are mostly in Dutch. I dont think its a good idea owning a SUV in Holland. Yeah man the chicks are hot. Even the prostitutes from eastern europe can pass of as supermodels. But the last 20 or so years there have been an influx of morrocans and turks to Holland, mostly leeches man. My aunt says that in the past no one built any gates around their homes, now with a high immigration rate from mostly muslim cuntries, people are more wary of immigrants.

Yup riding a bike is the rage in Holland. When I was there, I wanted to buy one of those ah pek looking bikes but it cost 600 fucking euros. Shops closes mostly in the afternoons, so all is left are the bars and strip joints and coffee shops( ganjah joints).

Alot of Dutch also live on houseboats which I think is cool as the whole cuntry surrounded by canals and shit. Most houses have their own waterways instead of lawns. My aunt stays in a apartment complex that have double storeys just like a maisonette in peesai that looks more like its made of lego bricks.

If I'm not mistaken most of the museums there are free entry. Since you are in Canada, why dont you fly over there... I think it's less then 5 hours from Toronto airport.

I am not in Canada lah. Back in Sinkieland already.

Nice to hear that you also enjoyed your Dutch stay. Amsterdam is a great city.

Vondel Park is one of the best parks in the world in my opinion. It is located at the outer fringe of the inner centuum in Amsterdam, right next to the museum district where the Van Gogh museums. The gate to the park is right opposite that big casino below Leidseplein (sic?).

Oh, you did not know that in Amsterdam, you can just take an unchain bike off the bike rake and used it to ride around the city? There are hundreds of thousands of bikes on the ramp next to the Centraal Station and you can just look around for the unchained ones and use them. The Dutch do that all the time. The chained ones are owned, but the unchained ones are abandoned and free for all to use.

Have been catching up on news from Australia and it seems as if some major projects are on hold. I've asked my employer if this would have any effect in the process and they have assured me that the application process is already in the hands of the immigration department.

I guess it is a matter of wait and see. I'm just glad that for now, I am still holding on to my current job, and worse comes to worst, I'll just have to put aside my dream of starting a new life the Lucky Country.

See how it goes, will be disappointed if the application falls through, but I can take solace in the fact that at least I will be close to my mum and dad who never really liked to idea of me living so far away anyway.

Unfortunately, persistence is now in the hands of the Immigration folks, and even after approval, my employer could always withdraw the offer since I'm a sponsored candidate. Have to admit my mind is racing with "what-ifs" to the point I am starting to lose some sleep. Either way, I leave it to the big man up there to decide, if I go, I will make sure I will earn enough to give my parents the good life they so deserve, if I stay, I'll make sure they will never be lacking.

But many thanks for offering some consolation.

Dont give up hope. Persistence is the key of getting out of peesai.

I gave up m 457 last year because I did not want to beg for my job and I had my spouse and 1 year old plus another on the way. I did not see why I should be doing more than the locals in my job. Anyway if you have given all the necessary documents to immigration, im sure you'll get your visa.

If you are good at what you do and believe in yourself, you dont have to be afraid man.

Amsterdam is one of the weirdest places I been to.

windows with chickens inside, senget houses, coffeshops selling weed openly, gay flags and very happening bars.
tiniest streets, dirty river (for a eurpoean cuntry), and everyone just mind their own business and dont disturb you.

the chickens are ok only la, I still tink asian chickens are far better.

Nice place to stay but there are much nicer places in eu.
especially the language, I can understd a bit of french, but dutch is more like german, very hard and difficult to catch.
