Miss Urinator says this is how she pushes boundaries of art

Frontwoman who urinated on fan breaks silence: 'Always pushed limits'

The frontwoman of a band, who urinated on a consenting fan on stage, has apologised to her friends, family and fans following backlash online.

During Brass Against's set at the Welcome to Rockville festival in Daytona, Florida, frontwoman Sophia Urista invited a fan up on stage and pulled down her pants while he was lying down and proceeded to urinate on his face.

She kept performing Rage Against the Machine's 'Wake Up', all while relieving her bladder on stage. Afterwards, the man on stage starts first bumping and dancing while on the floor.

It has been reported the man consented to Ms Urista urinating on him and she reportedly said she was going to urinate on him before he was on stage.

The band previously apologised on social media after backlash from the incident on stage, saying Ms Urita got "carried away" and it caught other members off guard.

Despite some thinking the urination was inappropriate, some people defended Ms Urista, saying her actions were very "rock and roll".

Personal apology posted on Instagram

However, Ms Urista issued her own apology on Instagram on Wednesday.

"I have always pushed the limits in music and on stage. That night, I pushed the limits too far," she said on Instagram.

"I love my family, the band, and the fans more than anything and I know that some were hurt of offended by what I did. I apologise to them and want them to know I didn't mean to hurt them.

"I am not a shock artist. I always want to put the music first. I'm grateful for all of your continued love and support."

Many people were supportive of Ms Urista in the comments of her post, with many saying they would be standing by her.

"I love you even more now and thought this was absolutely iconic performance art," one person said.

Earlier video from set emerges online

A video which was seemingly taken before the urinating incident at the show has also emerged online.

It suggests the crowd, and the fan brought up on stage, were given fair warning about what Ms Urista would go on to do.

"I have a fantasy where I pee in someone's mouth," Ms Urista says in the video, which was shared to Twitter.

She said it wasn't because she is into some "freaky s***", but because she doesn't want to leave the stage and she then asks for a volunteer.

The band said in its apology fans won't be seeing Ms Urista urinate on another fan's face at their shows.

Never heard of them until I saw this clip.
This incident will go one of 2 ways. Either it will elevate their global profile and associated fame that goes with it or it will finish them as a credible rock band.
Social media reaction seems pretty negative.
