As an ex-Singaporean borned, educated, NSed and worked in Singapore, I do not really recognise Singapore these days when I return for visits.
Where are my Singaporean friends?
Many are working or have moved overseas for good. A few (in their 50s/60s) had died related to overworking and the poor Singapore diet.
Instead, I was greeted by people who do not know what is sambal chilli, and soya milk is 豆浆 !!! Must be a new arrival.
One of the reasons is the type of Singapore society, where the culty LKY has built on defamation suits instead of coming clean. Singaporeans have to turn to alternative sources of news to really know Singapore.
If Scroobal shuts up, perhaps the lawyer letters will stop. And PAP ministers can then regain their orginal salaries and be able to do what they want with Singapore.
With Internet, it is possible for overseas Singaporean communities to link up and create a better Singapore.
We already have alfresco cafe.
How about ...
1. SBF TV, bringing Singaporean focused lifestyle programs to overseas Singaporeans.
2. SBF English Service, advicing bi-lingual Singaporeans to speak and write better English.
3. SBF Internet Shopping, bringing the things Singaporeans love, to their overseas homes.
Over time, we can buy a big island and re-establish an alternative democratic Singapore, one that is really based on justice and equality, so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and
progress for our Singaporeans.
OK. I know it is a Monday. So sue/complain me.
