Lawyer fined for stealing a bra

Hong Kong barrister Stanley Ma has been fined HK$3,000 for stealing a brassiere. The 44-year-old also had his name removed from the approved barristers' list in the Special Administrative Region.

On Monday, the Eastern Magistracy found him guilty of stealing a bra - worth HK$360 - and imposed the fine on him. He was said to have conducted the act outside a house in Peng Chau on May 3.

Ma was a journalist before practising law in 2000. He has a law degree from the University of London and a master's degree in law from Hong Kong University.
