Actually the time to feel jealous of WP is very far off. WP themselves admitted they are not ready to form an alternative govt. if they are not ready, the others are even less so.

Yes, but if you look at mature democracies which have first past the post systems like us - UK, USA, Australia, they all have 2 major parties. Maybe a much smaller third party. At this point it is already fairly apparent, if the WP does not collapse, that the 2 big parties in Singapore in the long run will be PAP and WP. Everybody else is basically competing for 3rd place. All the other opposition parties know at this point that there is a danger that they will fade in the long run.

This is not clear. Some are still fighting for the first two places, complicating the matter and causing the possibility of a stillbirth.

That is not true. Many mature, sane locals buy CSJ's books over and above the market price and give donations as well. You don't understand psychology. CSJ and these guys are not insane.
