Unfortunately Chee Soon Juan is quite important to SDP. I think he manages to pull in a fair amount of funding, which is probably why other people in the party put up with his antics. I remember at an election rally, when he was still ineligible to stand for election, he went around shaking peoples' hands, before the SDP had an emergency meeting that revolved around his party members rounding on him saying "what the fuck are you doing, this is borderline illegal, do you want the PAP to come in and arrest us?"
