PureView 41MP phones were already available earlier this year, but they're running Symbian OS.

Nokia will announce the Windows version of the PureView 41MP phone on Sept 5th.

The point of this is that the camera on phones are getting better and better, and it won't be long before point-and-shoot digital cameras go the way of floppy disks: obsolete and extinct. You won't always carry a digital camera on you, but you'll almost always carry a mobile phone wherever you go.

Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Pentax, Olympus and other camera manufacturers will soon have to compete only on DSLR cameras.

Nokia has been in bed with Microsoft since Feb 2011 through a 'strategic partnership'. Nokia's CEO is an ex-Microsoft man.

At this point, supporting Nokia is no different from supporting Microsoft.

I know but there is another non-Nokia phone which is also a Window phone. Nokia has to get rid of its silly style. Nokia loses its fan base and some turn to Samsung instead even in its own turf (Finland).
