Hi John, is the famous cheesecake still around? I remember When I was young, my parents would bring me there for afternoon tea and I would always order the cheesecake.

9 bucks is rather steep for a slice, but I guess it's all worth it once in a while to feel good.

SINGAPORE - Two families on holiday were caught by surprise when the ceiling of the driveway at Hilton Singapore fell on the vehicles they were in on Sunday (Dec 13).
A black car and a white taxi were caught under the debris. A luggage trolley and a few bags also appeared to be crushed.
Cab driver Ong Wee Hian, 60, said his passengers were an Indonesian family with two children. They were unloading luggage, and Mr Ong was closing the boot when the roof cracked and fell.
The family was fine but very stunned, he said.
The black car belonged to a Malaysian businessman, who declined to give his name. He was in the car with his wife and 5-month old son, he said.
They were departing, and he was checking a location on Google maps when the ceiling collapsed.
"It happened so fast, in 10 seconds. I just grabbed my baby and ran out of the car, and called to my wife to get to safety," he told The Straits Times.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call at about 2.55pm regarding people being injured at the hotel.
Four people, a man, two women and a child, were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, SCDF said. They were conscious.
Mr Peter Webster, Hilton regional general manager, said a doorman heard a sound at around 2.50pm. Shortly afterwards the ceiling, which is made of plasterboard with an aluminium frame, collapsed slowly.
"The doorman heard some strange sounds coming from above. He asked guests to move away. Then slowly the ceiling came down," Mr Webster said.

"All the hotel guests are absolutely fine. We have secured the perimeter and are making sure guests enter and leave by the second exit," said Mr Webster.
Hilton will cover the damage to both vehicles, he said.
Inspectors from the Building and Construction Authority were investigating at the scene.
At around 5.30pm, the white vehicle was driven away, and workers began removing the debris from the driveway. By about 6pm, both cars had left the driveway.
The roof collapse at the Hilton is the latest in a string of incidents on Orchard Road this month.
On Saturday, water seepage due to heavy rain resulted in an outage in Orchard Central mall.
On Wednesday, a slab of concrete fell from a pedestrian bridge outside Orchard Plaza narrowly missing two passers-by.
Earlier this month, two Christmas decorations caught fire on two separate incidents along the road.

SINGAPORE: Part of the roof over the driveway of Hilton Singapore hotel collapsed on Sunday (Dec 13). An eyewitness sent photos to Channel NewsAsia, sharing that the incident occurred at about 3pm.
A Channel NewsAsia reporter at the scene said that two police cars arrived in the first few minutes, followed by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) at 4pm. SCDF told Channel NewsAsia it deployed one fire engine and one ambulance in total to Hilton hotel that day.

Officers spent about 10 minutes inspecting the wreckage, which was occupying the entire hotel front porch, our reporter said. During the inspection, only guests were allowed through the entrance, according to a hotel representative.

A black car bearing a Malaysian licence plate took most of the impact from the fall. There was another car in the driveway, a white MPV with a Prince Royal Limousine logo, but it was not as damaged.
Metal rods, plaster boards and Christmas lights could be seen dangling from the ceiling. The affected area measured 6 metres by 1.8 metres, said Hilton Singapore general manager Peter Webster, who spoke to Channel NewsAsia later that day.
Mr Webster said the hotel's doorman heard a loud sound at about 2.50pm and moved to clear people out of the way. However, two people - one a passerby who was taking a shortcut via the hotel and another, a hotel worker - were hit by the falling parts.
While Mr Webster declined to identify the hotel worker who was hurt, he said the doorman was OK.
"They had scratches, but looked fine and were sent to the hospital as a precaution," said Mr Webster. "It actually looks a lot worse than it is."
In a statement, SCDF said a total of four people were conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital as a result of the incident.

Mr Webster told our reporter that the hotel is 45 years old and this was the first time it was experiencing something like this.
"We have the building checked on a regular basis," said Mr Webster. "We had an inspection just last week and it was absolutely perfect. We have been highly commended for the condition of the property."
Asked about the possible cause of the collapse, he suggested that recent wet weather may have caused water leakage into the ceiling: "Obviously it's been raining in the past few weeks but the rains seem to be bit heavier than usual this year."

The regional manager of Hilton Worldwide for Singapore, Indonesia and Philippines also said the hotel is waiting for the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) to send structural engineers to inspect the area. BCA is expected to issue a statement on the incident on Monday.
"But we have inspections all year round and there hasn't been any indication that this could have happened," said Mr Webster.
At around 5.30pm, contractors arrived to free the vehicles from the debris.

Only a visit to the collapse site could tell and problem with ceiling collapse is actually rather easy to tell once we observe the concrete and fasteners and also check is there is a dynamic load like a fan or something that moves repeatedly. From photos here cannot have any conclusion.
