The wife sacrifice her life taking care of his parents. Now its time wife take care of hers.
Not "refurbish", but I believe that rejuvenate is more appropriate.

Perhaps, based upon what was posted, the insignificant nobody me would readily admit that I know not the circumstances that led to the divorce, but I do have respect for the man for his decision to Share his assets with his wife, and the Judge that made the final decision.
1. At the least, the man acknowledges the contributions made by his wife for the family, by being a housewife and taking care of his elderly parents which is not as easy as some would presume. The elderly would have aged and would need medical help, assistance and even trips to the hospitals, not just for regular check-ups, but even treatments, that would take up much, much time and efforts, not just for one time but on a regular basis.
Fortunately for the man, his wife was prepared to do her assigned tasks, not just to take care of home - clean, upkeep, cook, etc, for not only his family, but for his elderly parents too, not once but for the duration of his parents lifetime, which the man may have to resign from his job to perform her role.
2. Assuming that his wife is at the least just a few years younger than him, which is often the norm, being divorced, she would have a hard time looking for a job to survive, except to apply for menial low paying jobs BUT HONEST jobs - such as bakery assistant, cleaner, etc and certainly not office 9 to 5 jobs, to survive. At mere 50s in her age, with the CPF awarded, she would not be able to cash it out till she reaches 65.
Thus it is a tough road ahead for her.....Regardless of sex, race, language or religion, she is a FELLOW Human....
3. Ultimately, marriage between a male and a female is a SACRED INSTITUTION, as it is the FOUNDATION and building blocks for the growth and expansion of Civilization. It takes 2 hands to clap. No mortal or immortal promised that life would be a bed of roses daily. COMMUNICATIONS IS CRITICAL IN RELATIONSHIPS, as none is a mirror image of another..
In Singapore, there are organizations that seek to help reconcile families, from religious institutions to our secular Family Court.
However, when all had calmed down, thought issues over THOUROUGHLY, at times, divorce is better than to continue on living in pain and suffering from each other...cause if such irreconcilable differences continues on, it would only eventually lead to violence, hurt and harm to each other.......
