It has been ages since LKY said that his goal is to make Sinkies work and work and pay and pay so that they don not have time to partake in politics en masse.
Yah, this is true, That has been one of his main objectives, to make the average sinkie run in a rat race trying to keep their heads up above water and they become to busy to get interested in politics. This does not only apply to making a living, but to all aspects of life. That is why you have so many complicated and unnecessary rules when it come to education for the kids, buying a car, even buying a flat etc. People are so caught up playing by the rules, and trying to get an angle on the rules, they have very little relax time anymore.
When the step at two was first started, it was readily seen that it would lead to trouble down the road. But the PAPies knew they could import as many FTs as they needed and thus it wasn't a problem for them when Sinkies have too few babies. It was part of their plan. They knew that a sizeable portion of the population will tulan them after awhile. But they also knew that the FTs and PRs will help them retain power.
I cannot agree with this. Currently, FTs and PRs cannot vote in any elections. AT the first sign of trouble, these people will get out as fast as possible. Many of these people are critical of the PAP themselves.

All those wishing that the PAPies will change their spots after LKY goes to hell are delusional. The PAPies, under LKY have already planned ahead for the next 20-30 years in terms of social engineering the country.
You can expect more FTs, more hardships for middle and lower income people and a continued strangle-hold on mainstream media and a continue to live under emergency laws since our independence.
You all better vote out the PAP in the next GE because the next 4-6 years is crucial for us to get back the country. Otherwise, not only will you all be a minority in your own country but you will have to survive another round of social engineering that aims to dilute your rights as a human being and a citizen of your own country.
Chao, this is where I have some bad news for you. you say the PAP is very smart and forward thinking, than what makes you so sure they will allow the electorate to vote them out? Do you not think they have plans in place that makes sure they never lose power in S'pore? U already mention the emergency laws, etc. Very simply put, they cannot relinquish power even if they wanted to. They have so many corruption, conflict of interests, etc. sleletons in the closet that the next govt. will have them all arrested. U already know that right now, 80% of all judges in S'pore can go to jail for being biased in favour of the PAP and their elites. Not to mention the entire Kwa and Lee extended family and their PAP elite cronies. U can throw in many high ranking members of the police force, ISD, CPIB, CAD, Inland Revenue etc. who were implicit and complicit in aiding and abetting the PAP to enforce illegal actions against its own citizens. How can these people dare to allow an oppo victory?
You all must realise that a few dumb PAPpy ministers are put out there for show. There are a few diabolically clever people with all the right numbers to make decisions to ensure that the PAPies and their cronies benefit while the larger majority suffer.
They knew what they were doing years ago with the stop at two policy and the many other policies since then that make it economically and socially difficult for Singaporeans to procreate.
Never, ever make the mistake to think that the PAPies are benevolent. They are deceitful and self-serving and they have many times said that they put themselves either higher or on the same level as the country. In other words, they will do what it takes to stay in power even if it is at the detriment of the country.
Vote them out while you have a chance and while your family members still have a chance. They have sold you out and will continue to do so unless you do something about it.
