Why he prefers The Straits Times to news on the Net

YESTERDAY'S report ('Newspapers still relevant: SM Goh') reconfirms my view that newspapers will always remain relevant.

It is a medium which the Internet and the visual media will never replace.

For instance, a reader can always reach for his newspaper at any time, and it allows him to think and mull over its contents even as he reads. Neither the visual media nor the Internet offers such a convenience.

It takes more than an hour of reading The Straits Times before I can put the paper down.

The paper comes to me like a fresh brew of coffee every day. I can hardly say this about the Internet.

when we were young, we use to tease & chant " shame, shame, baboo singh, kacang putih lima sen"....what a shame!, ghost writer, writing in to sing praises of the 154th....the one & only allowed newspaper in SINgapore..

if like what he says "a reader can always reach for his newspaper at any time, and it allows him to think and mull over its contents even as he reads. Neither the visual media nor the Internet offers such a convenience", he must be mentally retarded, maybe he is reading it everyday from his homestay at the lodge off Buangkok Green SINgapore, "It takes more than an hour of reading The Straits Times before I can put the paper down. " , plus free coffee also,
"The paper comes to me like a fresh brew of coffee every day", no Internet access from there or too cheapskeate to surf the net, "I can hardly say this about the Internet."

I guess if he ever gets access to the Internet SBF must be 'pornography' to Krishnan...

ghost writer...:D

Nowadays we have ipad and smartphones. What's so difficult to read new media? Can still pick up news to read anytime if you want to - I see many pple on buses, trains, cars, etc doing nothing but staring into their ipads, iphones, samsungs, blackberry, etc.

This krishnan is a retard.

Ghost writer or otherwise.

If the editor allows this kind of brainless article to publish in order to justify the reason why newsprint is a must read.

It just to show the very reason why people are turning away from it.

in this age still got idiots who duno how to use internet... another ah neh speaking.. knnbccb!

Ghost writer lah.

Why would anyone take the trouble of finding a pen & paper, write the letter, find a post office & then send the letter?

Krishnan is probably someone with alot of free time at Straits Time & just practising "creative" writing, the only creativity you'll find there :)

C.V.G. Krishnan calls this letter a forum letter,I call C.V.G. Krishnan

What a disgrace to the name C.V.G. Krishnan

It makes good sense to Ah Neh lah.

After reading the newspapers, can accumulate and sell them to garang guni man, enough for a cup of kopi-O in Kopitiam.

You read or write to this Kopitiam it's like pum pui - all comes to nothing. It's soon gone - or SAM would have deleted them.

According to Shakespeare they are all "tales told or written by idiots - all sound and fury signifying nothing"
