高雄市長韓國瑜率團赴中國城市交流，正在諾魯訪問的總統蔡英文今天透過臉書表示，她記得韓國瑜選舉時很在意中華民國，現在就是一個機會，請告訴對方，中華民國台灣是一個主權獨立的國家，請中國停止打壓台灣的國際參與空間。

韓國瑜於22、23日先後進入香港、澳門中聯辦，會見兩處主任，今天下午將與中國國台辦主任劉結一會面。
蔡總統今天在諾魯國會發表演說後，國會立即無異議通過歡迎蔡總統訪問諾魯決議案，由諾魯總統瓦卡（Baron Divavesi Waqa）宣讀。
「諾魯是台灣的超級好朋友」，蔡總統隨後在臉書發文表示，諾魯國會發表決議文，除了歡迎她的來訪，更表明尊重2300萬台灣人民的意志，力挺台灣拒絕中國的一國兩制和軍事威脅，並支持以主權國家的身分參與各種國際組織。
總統說，這幾天，大家都很關注台灣政治人物的出訪。對她來說，台灣在國際上的處境不易，透過不同層次的國際訪問，無論是總統的國是訪問或地方首長的城市交流，都有助於台灣和其他國家交朋友、拚外交。
包括對外招商、民主交流、農業與醫療合作，甚至是民間NGO計畫、數位外交等，都是交朋友的方式。蔡總統指出，台灣願意和全世界交朋友，但期待這些朋友也願意支持台灣參與國際事務，促進台灣的國際地位，「而不是一個什麼都反對、什麼都想打壓我們的『朋友』」。
蔡總統說，她也要告訴韓國瑜，「我記得你選舉的時候很在意中華民國」，現在就是一個機會，請告訴對方，中華民國台灣是一個主權獨立的國家，請中國停止打壓台灣的國際參與空間；「這，也就是我們出訪的意義所在」。
