But such is the case when they exhibit alarming stupidity and brazen audacity in thinking that they can get away with all this - all fuelled with a sense of undeserving self-righteousness when they believe that anything they do is beyond reproach as long as they it is in the name of missionary work to spread Christianity. After all, they did come up with something that did work - they have set up a mega-church in Singapore with the largest congregation in the entire country. The congregation is extremely generous and supportive and they have become one of the richest charismatic churches in the region. Such is the support for Kong Hee even after his arrest: in two weekend services, 14,000 placard-carrying followers gave Kong Hee a standing ovation and a show of support.

Perhaps there is a palpable fear that any attempt (however minor) to deviate from plan A would risk alienating this die-hard core of supporters who have put their faith in the leadership at CHC and would never question their authority, even if Kong Hee does receive the maximum sentence of life imprisonment for his crime. Perhaps there is an attempt at martyrdom on his part to claim innocence all the way to his jail cell, sacrificing his freedom for the sake of preserving plan A. Is it worth going to jail for the rest of his life for this? I wouldn't think so - but I wouldn't be able to guess how Kong Hee's brains work and how he attempts to justify his choices which seem totally bizarre to most of us. After all, he already had such a good life prior to this investigation - he is the pastor of one of the most successful churches in the region, he is fabulously wealthy and has a wife and son. Why would he want to throw that all away?

When one has use his ace on his sleeve, then he has nothing to lose.
Con Hee is going to jail eventually as a mortal being & he is going to Hell as a spiritual being.

Just the same old same old People's War/Guerilla War Trick. The MasterMind deliberately gets himself into trouble with the Authorities, and then uses the same Persecution incident that he engineered to Mobilize the Masses to fight for him. We see this in the Sodomy Incidents in a certain neighbouring country.
