9 cases of travellers misusing boarding pass this year: Police

SINGAPORE — There have been nine cases of travellers misusing their boarding pass since January this year, the Singapore Police Force said today (Sept 27).

In an advisory posted on Facebook, the police also said that 13 people have been arrested in connection with offences under the Protected Areas and Protected Places Act.

The transit areas of Changi Airport are gazetted as Protected Places, the police said, adding that all passengers who enter the transit areas should only be there for the purpose of travelling to their next destinations.

“Those who abuse their boarding pass to enter the transit areas to meet friends or celebrities, with no intention to proceed to their next destination, are liable for an offence under the Protected Areas and Protected Places Act.”

Offenders face a fine of S$1,000, up to two years’ jail, or both, the police said. CHANNEL NEWSASIA

Its not funny at all. When these fuckers don't board the flight, the flight becomes delayed because they have to make final boarding calls for the missing bastards, and they have to repeatedly page the fuckers to get on board. Once no one shows up after repeated pages, then they have to check the manifest to see if the fuckers checked any thing in. If they checked in some luggage, it has to be removed from the plane for fear of a bomb threat. Most likely, these fucks don't have checked in luggage, but it still causes a delay for the flight. Its worse if these people are FT, which is more then likely. Then they have to fill in a D/E card when they re-enter singapore thru the ICA counters in the airport, and basically lie on the card with regards to where they flew in from, flight number, etc. That's an offence right there.

These fucks want to waste their money by buying a ticket to meet someone in the airport, that is their business. But incoveniencing other people is not accpetable.

I tot just scan passport to go in and scan again to come out. T1 the best, departure and arrival hall connected. but buy duty free need boarding pass to prove it international flight rite? or only liquor need to prove? while the women stuff no need?

I am replying to halsey's post which says that they are meeting their Vietnamese, Pinoy, PRC, Myanmar girlfriends at the transit lounge area. So, they can be only one of 2 kinds. either male FTs or Male sinkies. Male FTs need D/E card to re-enter singapore thru the ICA counters. If they lie to the ICA officer that they return from such and such flights, then they are committing offence. If they tell the ICA officer they just buy a ticket just so to meet their gf in the lounge, they should be getting striped searched for contraband. If its a sinkie male, don't they need prove of return ticket of less then 6 months to show they do not need to apply exit permit? So, its kind of expensive to buy a return ticket and then not use it, just to see a GF in the airport.
