Low Yat Fracas: Bagan Umno division chief arrested (with video)

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Bagan Umno division chief Datuk Dr Shaik Hussein Mydin has been detained by police for alleged spreading of false information on the recent Low Yat fracas. Earlier, he arrived at the Central Seberang Prai district police headquarters at 1.30pm for questioning. However, at about 4pm, his aides told the New Straits Times that he would be brought to the Bukit Aman police headquarters for 'further investigation'. The aide declined to reveal further. It was learnt that Shaik was questioned for his alleged spreading of false information in the recent Low Yat Plaza fracas in an instant messaging group.

Yesterday, police had arrested blogger Papagomo in connection with Sunday’s Plaza Low Yat fracas. The blogger, whose real name is Wan Mohd Azri Wan Deris, was arrested at his home last night for allegedly spreading false news which contributed to tensions that brought about the violent attacks.
