The food is expensive and not all that great.

This restaurant was easy to find, service was good. The meal was disappointing. We chose Fern and Kiwi for our family (seven people) Christmas dinner, the meal (set menu with choice of Starter, Main and dessert) was only OK.
Some of us ordered the Caviar, Green Lipped Mussels, Blue Cod, Sea Run Salmon and Scallop appetizer nobody could locate Caviar anywhere on their plate. When two of us ordered Beef Carpaccio, we were told the beef was cooked, of course it wasn't cooked but I have to wonder why our server insisted that it was a cooked appetizer.
The Roast Turkey Breast with Stuffing was only OK and the portion was very small. The NZ Lamb was outstanding! Several of us ordered the Wagyu Ribeye, when I stipulated my doneness preference, the server told me it is only served Medium-rare. I've never heard of a restaurant telling the customer they can only have their steak one way. The customer should always be able to choose level of doneness for their steak! The sharing bowl of roast potatoes and "fresh" peas was created for serving 4 and served to our table of 7. The peas were a long way from fresh. I'd have been happy with "fresh frozen" these were old and dry, not appealing at all.
The Brulee dessert was most disappointing, the surface may have been bruleed but it had dissolved into the custard and when we asked about it we were told that is the way they intend it to be and that they are unable to serve replace it with a portion that has a crispy brulee topping.
All in all, we found this dinner disappointing. Food was only mediocre to ok and definitely not worth the price per plate. This is a restaurant we will not return to.
